Bottom panel

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The horse on the left wears a nose protector

A floor cover is a nose pad for horses, usually made of lambskin or similar bulky material, also called a nose protector. It is pulled over the noseband of the bridle and is usually fastened with Velcro fasteners.

Floor panels are mainly used in gallop / trot racing to prevent the horse from being unsettled by apparent or actual floor irregularities, such as shadows or the like, during the race.

The bottom panel may have a maximum diameter of 15 cm and is prohibited in many tests.
