The Boerentoren ( Peasant Tower ) in Antwerp is one of the tallest skyscrapers in Europe from the first half of the 20th century. The name comes from the fact that the majority of the clients of the Kredietbank that built the tower were farmers. The successor company to Kredietbank , the KBC Group , still uses the building to this day.

The reason for the construction was the world exhibition in 1930, which took place in Antwerp. Originally 87.5 m high, the building has been 97 m since a renovation in 1976 when the apartments that had existed up until then were converted into offices. To this day it is only towered over by the Cathedral of Our Lady in Antwerp .
