history

Boerse.bz was a sister board of the Germany-wide known IT forum Gulli.com . After Gulli had to give up his own warez area due to legal consequences, the sister board Boerse.bz was created. Boerse.bz's servers were located in Canada , according to the company .

In July 2014, the download sector was blocked from countries on Boerse.bz. As a result, inquiries from Germany, England and, at times, Austria no longer had access to certain areas. The Boerse.bz administration u. a. increased pressure from rights holders. At the same time it was advertised to get the VPN client from the provider hide.me in order to continue to be able to access all content on the site.

At the end of July 2014, the entire moderation team announced their withdrawal and announced the change to a new project. In August it was announced that the previous moderators are now active in the project at Boerse.to, and existing Boerse.bz user accounts can also be activated on the new platform.

Major law enforcement raid

On November 4, 2014, the Cologne public prosecutor's office searched a total of 121 homes of suspicious people in 14 federal states. They are said to have illegally uploaded media content such as films, series or e-books to various download portals and made them available via Boerse.bz. The major raid was preceded by a criminal complaint by the GVU and investigations by the law enforcement authorities.

On November 11, 2014, the operators closed the forum due to the incidents.
