history

The company was founded in 1931 as Boge und Sohn KG in Bad Godesberg . His portfolio initially included the development and manufacture of shock absorbers and rubber-metal products. The founding of Elastmetall Damme / Oldenburg GmbH in 1967 was followed by its merger with Lemförder Metallwaren AG in 1971 .

In 1984 ZF Friedrichshafen AG became the majority shareholder of Lemförder Metallwaren AG; In 1991, Mannesmann AG joined Boge GmbH as the majority shareholder . In 1993, Boge GmbH gave up its shock absorber activities to Fichtel & Sachs AG and from then on concentrated on the development and manufacture of rubber-metal components and impact dampers. From 1997 the Boge GmbH operated as Mannesmann Boge GmbH. In 2002, ZF Friedrichshafen took over the activities of the company now trading as Boge Vibration Control GmbH . In 2003, ZF Boge GmbH and ZF Lemförder Elastmetall GmbH merged to form ZF Boge Elastmetall GmbH and founded the rubber-metal technology division of ZF Friedrichshafen AG. ZF Boge Elastmetall GmbH was integrated into ZF Lemförder GmbH in 2010. The former ZF Boge Elastmetall GmbH operated from now on under the name ZF Lemförder, Boge Rubber & Plastics division. In 2011, ZF Lemförder GmbH was integrated into ZF Friedrichshafen AG.

In 2014, the Rubber & Plastics business area was taken over by Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd. for strategic reasons . (TMT). Since then, global activities in the automotive sector have been managed under the umbrella brand BOGE Rubber & Plastics . The holding company is CSR New Material Technologies GmbH, which was founded specifically for this purpose and is based in Damme. The three German locations in Damme, Bonn and Simmern operate under the name BOGE Elastmetall GmbH.

The new owner of BOGE Rubber & Plastics, Zhuzhou Times New Material Technology Co., Ltd. (TMT), is a global supplier of vibration technology and polymer composites in rail technology. TMT, in turn, is a subsidiary of China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation Ltd. (CRRC) . The CRRC Group is the world's largest manufacturer of rail vehicles and railway equipment. The group employs around 190,000 people and generated sales of almost 33.3 billion euros in 2016.

Products

In the NVH Car Chassis division , BOGE Rubber & Plastics produces hydraulically damping chassis bearings. The products reduce vibrations, such as B. when cornering, braking or on uneven roads. In this way, they enable vibration damping and noise isolation for all vehicle types and ensure more stability, safety and driving comfort. The engine and transmission mounts manufactured by the NVH Powertrain Passenger Cars and Commercial Vehicles division prevent vibrations from being transmitted from the powertrain, thereby improving acoustics and driving comfort. Electrically switchable or active bearings help to reduce consumption, e.g. B. in connection with engine downsizing , cylinder deactivation or start-stop function.

BOGE also develops and produces plastic components and modules that replace conventional materials and thus enable increasing functional integration in the manufacturing process. In addition to reducing costs and weight, the lightweight components in the automotive sector also help to increase functional reliability.
