Archery biathlon

Archery biathlon is a winter sport.

The rules of archery biathlon are similar to those of the actual winter biathlon . However, shooting is done with a bow and arrow. The competitions were originally also organized by the IBU . The World Archery Federation (WA) has been responsible for this sport since April 1, 2005 .

The main rule of WA

  1. the distance to the targets is 18 m,
  2. the hinged discs have a diameter of 16 cm and
  3. The athlete has four arrows for four targets per shooting bout.

Similar to biathlon, the bow and arrows are carried on the back over the entire route.

Juniors complete one round each (except in the relay) and thus one less shooting sequence.
