Bohumil Kasal
Bohumil Kasal (* 1956 in Vojnův Městec ) is a Czech wood scientist. In 2010 he was appointed to succeed Rainer Marutzky as head of the Fraunhofer Institute for Wood Research in Braunschweig.
Life
Kasal obtained his Ph.D. in 1992. in wood engineering from Oregon State University . He then was Professor of Wood and Paper Research and the Chair of Civil Engineering at North Carolina State University from 1992 to 2005 .
From 2005 to 2010 he was a professor at Penn State University .
