Bole is the capital of the Bole District in the Savannah Region in Ghana . It has 12,921 inhabitants (2010 census).

Bole is in a sparsely populated area and is the only urban center in the Bole District. The city is known for an old clay mosque , which is often referred to as the second oldest of its kind in Ghana after the mosque of Larabanga . It is located about fifty meters behind a large, modern mosque that shapes the cityscape. Two other clay mosques in Bole, located on the main road, are said to date from the 18th century. The thoroughfare connects the city with the regional capitals Kumasi and Wa . There is a district hospital and post office in Bole.
