The Bolsa de Comercio de Buenos Aires (BCBA) (German: Commercial Exchange of Buenos Aires) is the company that is responsible for the operation of the most important stock exchange in Argentina . It is located on Avenida Leandro N. Alem , in the San Nicolás district , in the Argentine capital Buenos Aires . It was founded in 1854 and is the successor to Banco Mercantil , which was founded in 1822 by Bernardino Rivadavia .

The BCBA defines itself as follows: “It is a self-regulating, non-profit-making company under civil law. Its board of directors includes representatives from various sectors of the Argentine economy. "

The most important share index is the MERVAL (derived from MERcado de VALores ). Other indicators are Burcap , Bolsa General, and M.AR. as well as the currency indicator indole .

The current building was designed by Alejandro Christophersen in 1913 and completed in 1916. The modern extension was designed by Mario Roberto Álvarez and was inaugurated in 1977.
