The Bolsa de Valores de Montevideo (BVM), the Stock Exchange of Montevideo .

The stock exchange, which has existed since 1867, is located in Ciudad Vieja in Calle Misiones 1400 in the Bolsa de Comercio building . Both new issues and the purchase and sale of securities that have already been traded are processed there. The annual transaction volume is around 3 billion US dollars. The stock exchange is managed by a board of directors ( Consejo Directivo ) consisting of seven stockbrokers as members , the composition of which changes annually. Both a fiscal commission ( Comisión Fiscal ) and an ethics review commission ( Tribunal de Ética ) provide support. Both boards are also made up of stockbrokers. The IMEBO is the BVM's most important share index . Another index is the BVMBG .
