Bomba Goda

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bomba Goda (Russian Бомба Года; German "Bomb of the Year") was a music event held annually from 2001 to 2004 by the Russian radio station Dynamit FM. When it was first held, the event was the only dance-pop show in Russia, and thus at the same time an important stage for presentations for domestic and foreign musicians of this genre. The Bomba Goda concert always took place in spring and was usually only broadcast six months later or not at all on television. In 2003, there were seven months between the concert on March 19th and the broadcast of the recording on October 26th on STS .

The event had the additional title "International Festival of Dance Music", but was always dominated by Russian artists. The concert received little attention in non-Russian-speaking countries. The hallmarks of Bomba Goda were elaborately staged light and video effects. The event took place in covered stadiums, in 2003 for example in the Olimpijski in Moscow and in the Cherepovets Ice Palace in St. Petersburg , and was attended by several thousand spectators.

The most popular artists who performed at the Bomba Goda were tATu , Leningrad , Plazma and Sweta, as well as Lil Wayne and Kate Ryan from the international area . The musicians sometimes performed several pieces and remixed versions of their songs. tATu caused a stir in 2003 when they spontaneously changed the chorus of a remix they performed for Ja soschla s uma into an anti-war slogan against the Iraq war .

The last Bomba Goda took place in 2004. Instead, each year Dynamite FM releases CDs with the most played songs of the year, which are titled "Bomba Goda" with the respective release year.
