Cybook Gen3

Cybook Gen3

The original manufacturer of the Cybook Gen3 (successor to the Gen1) in 2007 was the Taiwan-based company Netronix Inc. , which supplied these readers themselves under the names EB-100 and EB-600 , but also for various companies such as Bookeen or Pocketbook , each with its own firmware produced. The free Linux distribution OpenInkpot can be used as an alternative to the firmware on the older Cybook Gen3 ( EB-100 ) . The Linux boot process can be followed via a serial interface that is only accessible by opening the housing and internal file structures can be accessed using a busy box . Later Gen3s from 2009 onwards corresponded to the EB-600. The 174 g Gen3 measures 118 × 188 × 8.5 mm and offers a mini-USB connection and an SD card slot. The successor device in 2009 was the Cybook Opus.
