The MÜNSTER II has been with Borkumer Kleinbahn since 1957 . It was built by the Schöma company in Diepholz with the serial number 1989, it is called the CFL 90 by the company .

history

The Borkumer Kleinbahn soon discovered the advantages for diesel locomotives . Therefore, in 1957, she acquired a brand new locomotive from the Schöma company. The MÜNSTER II with 112 hp was the most powerful locomotive on the island for a long time until 1988. After purchasing the new trains in 1993/1994, the company briefly considered selling them. However, it was then decided to use it as a plan locomotive for the reinforcement train of the old wagons. Since the end of 2001 it has been backed up as a reserve locomotive for the third set of wagons, after the EMDEN got a Sifa installed and has now taken over the task of planning the locomotive for the old train.

When the track 2 was renewed in the winter of 2007/2008, the machine found a new task with the material transport of the rails and sleepers by means of the flat cars 60, 62 and 9. At that time it was almost exclusively parked in the open air suffered. So it was then elaborately refurbished in winter 2008/2009 and has been shining in a new red color since then. Since then it has been used occasionally in the workshop area for shunting tasks or it has been available as a replacement locomotive for the historic train.

construction

The locomotive is powered by a Daimler-Benz engine with an output of 82 kW (112 hp). The transmission is from Voith . The maximum speed is 25 km / h and the wheel diameter is 600 mm.
