The Bornholmer Elementary School is a public montessori -oriented primary school in open all-day operation in Berlin at the "Nordic area" of the district Prenzlauer Berg .

history

Ludwig Hoffmann built the primary school between 1911 and 1912. It was opened on April 1, 1912. Today the building is a listed building .

The schoolhouse has three floors, an auditorium and a dining room. On the first floor there is also a "movement room" that can be used as a sports room. The school also has a sports hall. This was increased by one floor in 1927 and has been two-story since then. As a special feature, a glass tunnel connects the sports hall with a three-storey changing room extension. The associated sports field is also used by football clubs.
