Boss stone

In the production of boss stones from natural stone and artificial stone, explosive irons are placed on the edge of the stone and the hammer is struck on the explosive iron. The resulting wedge effect knocks off pieces of stone that take on the shape of a shell. This activity is called bossing, blasting or bouncing by stonemasons. In this process, a rough stone surface is created that shows no tool marks. This hand-made stone surface is used as a visible surface.
