Bowlers Creek is a small stream, valley and was once a small settlement in the Clutha district of the Otago regionon the South Island of New Zealand .

The creek has a length of about 3 km and is located about 7 km northwest of Lawrence .

history

On October 4, 1910, the section of Roxburgh Branch , a branch line of the Main South Line , was inaugurated to Bowlers Creek . Since you had to drive a 434 m long tunnel through Big Hill , the railway did not reach the next station in Craigellachie and Beaumont until December 15, 1914. There was a stop in Bowlers Creek . The entire railway line was shut down on June 1, 1968 and subsequently dismantled.
