The bridge is a defense technique in wrestling . In this position only the head and feet of the defending wrestler touch the wrestling mat. If the attacking wrestler succeeds in pressing down the defender's bridge, the attacker usually wins.

The Pasquale Passarelli bridge

The most famous bridge in the history of wrestling is probably a technique by Pasquale Passarelli at the Olympic Summer Games in Los Angeles .

Passarelli resisted the attempts of the Japanese Eto to shoulder him by means of a bridge for over 90 seconds.
