Antirrhinum hispanicum is a plant type from the genus of snapdragons ( Antirrhinum ) in the family of plantain plants (Plantaginaceae).

description

Antirrhinum hispanicum is a dwarf shrub whose creeping to ascending stems reach lengths of 20 to 60 cm. The plant has glandular hairs to glandular tomentose hair. The leaves are mostly opposite at the bottom and mostly alternate or almost completely alternate at the top, are 5 to 35 mm long and 2 to 20 mm wide, lanceolate to circular.

The bracts are similar to the leaves or are significantly smaller. The flower stalks are 2 to 20 mm long. The calyx is covered with 6 to 8 mm long, ovate-lanceolate and almost pointed to almost blunt calyx lobes. The crown is 20 to 25 mm long, colored white or pink and occasionally has a yellow palate.

The fruits are elongated to almost spherical, glandular hairy capsules with a length of 6 to 9 mm.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 16.

Occurrence and locations

The species is widespread in western central Spain , in the provinces of Granada and Almería . It grows on rocks and on walls.
