World Taekwondo Europe ( WTE ) (formerly European Taekwondo Union , ETU ) is the continental association for Olympic Taekwondo in Europe. It was founded on May 2, 1976. Founding members were the national Taekwondo sports associations of Spain, Belgium, Austria, Portugal, Germany, Italy, France, the Netherlands, Turkey, Greece, Denmark and England, organized in the WT .

The first European Championship was held on May 22nd and 23rd, 1976 in Barcelona .

The area of ​​responsibility of the WTE encompasses the entire Taekwondo sport operation in Europe. She is responsible in many areas for the implementation of the specifications of the WT and also supports scientific projects.
