The bridge cable inspection device is used during the regular main inspection of suspension bridges and cable-stayed bridges . The truck, which a simple mobile crane looks similar, is on a bridge by a pylon shifted to another. Essentially, it is used to check whether the coating on the ropes has any damage or irregularities. The different approaches to steel and concrete bridges must be observed: With concrete bridges, which are represented far more frequently than steel structures, more attention is paid to cracks in the surface. In many older designs, special attention must be paid to the screwed connections - which today would instead be welded directly.
