Brussels lace

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The expression Brussels lace refers to lace products (e.g. for collars, cuffs, dresses, etc.), for which Brussels has been a production focus since around 1700.

“Brussels leaders” are more important in media coverage when EU or NATO issues are discussed at the level of top politics.

The Belgian national dish chicory is also jokingly referred to in German-speaking countries as "Brussels lace".
