Fire protection and evacuation assistants
The fire protection and evacuation helper is a function of preventive fire protection , the necessity of which is generated from the fire protection regulations part C as well as the occupational safety law, ASR 2.2, the German statutory accident insurance (DGUV) and in the fire protection elements from DGUV information 205-023.
The fire protection and evacuation assistant was created from the respective functions of fire protection assistant and evacuation assistant and combines these two tasks in one function. Experience has shown that evacuation and fire fighting with a combined function are significantly faster and more straightforward .

- Support the fire protection officer
- Knowledge of fire alarm systems (e.g. fire alarm system )
- Safe operation of fire extinguishing equipment for fighting incipient fires (e.g. fire extinguishers , wall hydrant )
- Knowing the dangers of a fire in order to avoid personal danger
- Knowledge of possible special dangers of a company (e.g. hazardous material store , pressure vessel )
- Safe delivery of an emergency call via 112
In the evacuation area
- Reliable knowledge of the fire protection regulations Part C and the evacuation process
- Detailed knowledge of escape routes to be used, good knowledge of the escape and rescue plans
- Self-rescue measures
- Rescue measures
- Behavior in smoke-filled areas

education
The training of fire protection and evacuation assistants is carried out by the fire protection officer or a suitable external body.
The minimum requirements for training as a fire protection assistant according to DGUV result from the publication DGUV 205-023. An expansion of the training to include the evacuation component is necessary if the person is to be used as a fire protection and evacuation helper.
After completing the training, the person must be instructed in the company-specific conditions by the employer, unless this was part of the training.
For a practical training, a training that goes beyond the minimum requirements of the DGUV, which conveys fire protection as well as company-specific elements about fire protection regulations Part C and the skills required for evacuation is usually necessary.
commitment
The trained fire protection and evacuation assistant must be appointed in writing by the employer. Then the person can be used.
