Fire protection symbol (Thuringia)
The fire protection honor mark is an award of the Free State of Thuringia , which can be awarded to members of the fire brigade in five stages. It has been used since 1992 to recognize and appreciate merits in the fire protection of the country.
The fire protection badge of honor as a plug-in cross is awarded by the Prime Minister, the fire protection badge on ribbon and the fire protection medal in his name by the interior minister. The award includes a certificate.

Levels 2-4 can be awarded for particularly courageous and determined behavior in action.
Executions
The bronze fire protection medal shows the state coat of arms on the front. It is worn on the red-white-red ribbon.
The fire protection badge on the ribbon consists of an isosceles enamel cross and shows a flame cross on a red background. In the middle is the state coat of arms. The badge of honor is also worn on the red-white-red ribbon. The flame cross as well as the border of the cross and the ribbon are made of silver or gold, depending on the level.
A silver or gold embossed wreath made of oak leaves connects the individual legs of the plug-in cross.
The reverse of the fire protection badge and the reverse of the fire protection medal bear the inscription: "For merits in fire protection".
