Wipra Brewery

The Wippra brewery is a beer brewery in the village of Wippra in a listed building.

history

Beer has been brewed at the current location of the brewery since 1480 . Beams from the first parish church in Wippras are said to have been used in the construction of the brewery, reports Cyriakus Spangenberg in his Mansfeld Chronicle. In a record from 1552 it is said that only beer from the Wippra brewery was allowed to be served in the Rammelburg office. The brewery was owned by the office until the middle of the 19th century and only then went into private ownership. In 1919 the brewery operated as the König Brewery until it became a state-owned company in 1970 and was incorporated into the Mammut brewery . The end of the VEB was the temporary end for the brewery in Wippra. The brewery has only been producing beer again since 2002.

building

The ground floor of the original brewery building was made of field stones, while the upper floor was built as a half-timbered structure. The brewery expanded over the years.
