Braunschweig School Theater Week

The Braunschweig School Theater Week is a school theater festival that has been taking place in Braunschweig every year before the summer holidays since 1970 . Groups from all school types and grade levels can present their work there.

The school theater week is organized by the Association for the Promotion of School Theater in the former Braunschweig administrative region. V. and sponsored by the state of Lower Saxony , the city of Braunschweig, the local state theater and the German theater in Göttingen . In cooperation with the Hochschule für Bildende Künste (HBK), the State Theater is offering a workshop program.

The demonstrations mainly take place on the professionally operated stages:

  • Small house (approx. 300 seats, state theater)
  • House III (approx. 80 seats, state theater)
  • Brunsviga (approx. 300 seats, independent association)
  • LOT theater (approx. 130 seats, independent association)

Production support

Registered groups already have the opportunity to apply for production support while the pieces are being developed. Students of the HBK offer support to the teachers and can bring current methods of school theater didactics to the school and gather teaching practice on site.
