Breaking tool

Breaking tools used by the fire service are tools for opening doors and the like. Mostly human strength is needed for this. Axes , splitting hammers , axes , crowbars and sledgehammers are examples, however, heavy special knife with the appropriate blade shape can (for example the TacTool Camillus or the Rescue Tool III) are used for forcible entry.

In simple traffic accidents , the use of a crowbar can provide quick access.

Hydraulic rescue equipment (spreader and cutting device), tools for opening windows ( glass saw , spring punch ) and special door opening devices ( Ziehfix ) are differentiated from this .
