Brewster (unit)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Brewster ( unit symbol : B ), named after the Scottish physicist David Brewster , is a common unit of measurement for the stress-optical sensitivity C. It is defined by the stress-optical constant S and the wavelength λ where:

1 B = 10 −12 m² / Newton or 1 B = 1 / Terapascal
