Joseph Tobji

Joseph Tobji (born March 28, 1971 in Aleppo , Syria ) is the Maronite Archbishop of Aleppo .

Life

Joseph Tobji received on 16 March 1996, the sacrament of Holy Orders for the Maronite archeparchy Aleppo.

The Synod of Bishops of the Maronite Bishops, which met from March 10-14, 2015, elected him Archbishop of Aleppo. Pope Francis approved his election as Archbishop of Aleppo on October 31, 2015. The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch , Béchara Pierre Cardinal Raï OMM , donated him episcopal ordination on December 7th of the same year ; Co- consecrators were the Maronite Archbishop Emeritus of Aleppo, Youssef Anis Abi-Aad IdP , and the Bishop of Latakia , Elias Khoury Slaiman Slaiman , and the Bishop of Latakia, Antoine Chbeir .
