Youssef Anis Abi-Aad

Youssef Anis Abi-Aad IdP (born January 12, 1940 in Dfoun ; † May 6, 2017 ) was a Lebanese clergyman and Maronite Archbishop of Aleppo .

Life

Youssef Anis Abi-Aad joined the secular institute Istituto del Prado and was ordained a priest on June 18, 1966 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him Archbishop of Aleppo on June 7, 1997 . The Maronite Patriarch of Antioch and the whole of the Orient , Cardinal Nasrallah Boutros Sfeir , ordained him episcopal on November 1st of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Béchara Raï OMM , Bishop of Jbeil , and Paul Youssef Matar , Archbishop of Beirut .

Pope Francis accepted his early resignation on November 11, 2013.
