Brewster Island is a small island off the Danco coast of Graham Land in the north of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is located northwest of Danco Island in the Errera Channel .
The island was first shown on an Argentine map from 1950. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it in 1960 after the Scottish physicist David Brewster (1781–1868), inventor of the dioptric stereoscope .
