Brian A. Skiff

Brian A. Skiff is an American astronomer .

Skiff works at the Lowell Observatory , where he mainly works on the LONEOS project. As part of this project, in 2003 he succeeded in rediscovering the long-lost asteroid (69230) Hermes .

In the course of his work, Brian Skiff discovered 55 asteroids , partly together with Norman G. Thomas . B. the Trojan (15398) 1997 UZ 23 . In addition, he discovered, partly with colleagues, several comets , including the periodic comets 114P / Wiseman-Skiff and 140P / Bowell-Skiff .

In recognition of his performance, the asteroid (2554) Skiff was named after him.

In addition to his professional career, Brian Skiff is also a renowned volleyball player in the Mars Hill Summer Volleyball group.
