Brian Littrell

Brian Thomas Littrell (born February 20, 1975 in Lexington , Kentucky ) is an American singer and member of the boy band Backstreet Boys .

Brian Thomas Littrell was born on February 20, 1975 as the second son of Jacqueline and Harold Littrell in Lexington, Kentucky. He has a brother, Harold, who is four years older. The Littrells are devout Baptists . Brian has sung in the church choir of his Baptist congregation as well as in the school choir since childhood.

In childhood, Littrell was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect, a ventricular septal defect . In the spring of 1998 he had to undergo open heart surgery. Shortly afterwards he founded the “Healthy Heart Club for Kids”, a non-profit organization that supports children with heart disease and their families.

In April 1993, Littrell became a member of the Backstreet Boys on the recommendation of his cousin Kevin Richardson . With them he has released eight music albums and numerous singles so far (as of 2013).

Littrell has been married to Leighanne Reena Wallace since 2000. With her he has a son.

In 2006 Littrell released his solo album Welcome Home , which musically reflects his deep Christian faith.

At the end of 2008, Littrell's son Baylee was diagnosed with Kawasaki syndrome and successfully treated. This news gained worldwide attention because around the same time John Travolta's son Jett allegedly died of complications from the same illness.
