Brinkmannshof

From the former Brinkmannshof in the Bedingrade district of Essen there is still a half-timbered house that has been a listed building since 1985.

history

The Brinkmannshof was a Unterhof of Ehrenzell and is already mentioned in the Essen chain book of 1332 as oppen Brincke . The current building, according to the inscription above the entrance door on the south side of the eaves, dates from 1752. The floor plan is a long-walled house with a laterally shifted Deelentor. The crossed head struts in the upper compartment are typical of the Borbeck area.

In 1985 the farm was placed under monument protection due to a variety of issues: it is important for the history of Borbeck's settlement, it documents the architecture and thus also the working and production conditions of a former farm in the Lower Rhine-Westphalian border area and also had a historical relationship with Oberhof Borbeck and with it to the city of Essen.
