The British Journal of Pharmacology , abbreviated Br. J. Pharmacol. , is a scientific journal published by the British Pharmacological Society . The first issue appeared in March 1946. At that time the journal was still published quarterly and was called the British Journal of Pharmacology and Chemotherapy .
