British War Medal
The British War Medal is a British award given to soldiers who took part in the First World War . It was introduced by King George V on July 29, 1919 .
Award terms
In order to receive the medal, a soldier had to have been actively on duty for at least 28 days between August 5, 1914 and November 11, 1918.
Appearance
The British War Medal is a round silver medal. King George V is depicted on the front , the reverse shows a rider.
