Bromarv is a place and a former municipality in the Finnish countryside of Uusimaa . Administratively, Bromarv belongs to the city of Raseborg .

Bromarv is located on a narrow isthmus between two sea bays around 17 kilometers southwest of Ekenäs city center. The approximately 600 inhabitants live mainly from tourism. There is a church built in 1981, which replaced a previous building from 1753 that had burned down.

In 1667 Bromarv became a chapel parish of Tenala parish , and in 1881 it became an independent parish. In addition to the eponymous Kirchdorf the church Bromarv included a number of villages in the area. Most recently, the municipality of Bromarv had an area of 197 km² and around 1,500 inhabitants (over 90% of them Finland-Sweden ). In 1977 the Bromarv municipality was dissolved. A smaller part of the area was assigned to the city of Hanko , the greater part of the municipality of Tenala. The latter was in turn incorporated into the city of Ekenäs in 1993 . In 2009 Ekenäs became part of the newly formed town of Raseborg .
