Bruce Özbek (born April 28, 1964 in Istanbul ; born Bahattin Özbek ) is a former German boxer and kickboxer of Kurdish descent.

Özbek came to Germany at the age of 15. There he lived with his father in Hamburg. When he was 16 years old, he was sentenced to a 4-month youth sentence. Then he started kickboxing . In 1988 he became world champion in kickboxing and then defended this title 19 times. However, since he made little money as a kickboxer, he decided in 1999 to try it as a professional boxer. There, however, he was unable to build on his success as a kickboxer. Of his 38 fights, which he contested in the light heavyweight and cruiserweight division, he could only win 10. In November 2006 he finally played his last fight against Alexander Petkovic , which he lost by a knockout in the second round. A year after he finished his career, he fell ill with dementia .

He also tried his hand at singing (Lets Go, Özbek) and made a film about his life (“Journeyman”).
