The Makovskoye Lake ( Russian озеро Маковское / osero Makowskoje ) is a 163 km² lake in the northeast of the West Siberian lowlands in the Asian part of Russia , just north of the Arctic Circle .
Lake Makovskoye is the largest lake in the Yenisei catchment area west of the river. The lake is fed by a number of smaller streams. The Makovskaya (also called Dipkun) flows from the southeast end of the lake, a 10 to 20 meter wide river in the upper reaches, which finally flows almost 100 kilometers southwest - there already 50 meters wide - into the middle course of the left Yenisei tributary Turuchan . In the middle of the lake there is an approximately 25 km² island that rises a good 50 meters above the lake level.
The Ice Age Zungenbeckensee is surrounded from northwest to south by an almost 200 meter high terminal moraine , called the Ikennge Ridge (Russian- Evenk хребет Икэннгэ ).
In the oligotrophic (nutrient-poor) Makovskoye Lake, trout fish such as arctic char , peled vendace and other species of vendace as well as taimen predominate .
