The Bruchsee is an approx. 10 hectare open- cast brown coal residual lake in the Duinger Seenplatte area , Hildesheim district , Lower Saxony . It is located about 1 km west of Duingen .
The lake is used by the Alfeld fishing club as fishing waters. Boat fishing is not allowed, night fishing is. The lake is also used as an unofficial swimming lake .
