Fountain of happiness

The fountain of happiness is a fountain in the eastern part of the courtyard of the Bochum town hall . It was made from the materials travertine and bronze . It comes from the sculptor August Vogel from Berlin . The figure represents the goddess Fortuna .

The putti show the following motifs:

  • Marital happiness with ring and slipper
  • Fertility with an apple
  • Optimism with an empty wallet
  • Soap Bubble Illusion.
