The Brureika ( German  "Brauteiche" ) is a pedunculate oak near Utne in the Norwegian Fylke Vestland , whose age is estimated to be 900 to 1000 years. With a circumference of 10.8 meters (measured 1.3 meters above the ground), the oak was chosen as the “largest tree in Norway” in the Mitt tre (German: “my tree”) competition . The competition, with 425 other trees to choose from, was jointly organized by the Norwegian Forest Society (Det norske Skogselskap) , NRK Natur and the Norsk Genressurssenter . This is the second time in a row that the Brureika has been voted Norway's largest tree since 1990. The oak stands directly on the Fylkesvei 550 road on private property belonging to the Mikkal Lothe farm.
