Gross building land
The gross building land is understood to be the sum of all building plots including the associated green , traffic and water areas within an area intended for or already developed. If the consideration is limited exclusively to residential development, the term gross residential building land should be used.

The gross housing density describes the number of inhabitants per hectare of gross building land. The gross housing density, on the other hand, describes the number of apartments per hectare of gross building land.
