from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Book of Names ( Arabic : Kitab-i-Asma ) is one of the sacred books of Babism . It is one of the central works of the founder of religion Bab . It was first published as a book in August 1848.

content

This voluminous book consists mainly of long variations of invocations of the names of God. The book also serves as a source for the Baha'i calendar , whose names for the months also represent names of God. In this work the Bab compares himself with Mohammed and puts himself on a par with him. The Bab revealed in two days and nights what Mohammed revealed in 23 years. In the Kitab-i-Asma, the Bab announces the coming of something even greater than himself. He writes that those who endure and wait will be rewarded.
