The Bucheum (or Bucheion ) was an ancient Egyptian burial area of the sacred Buchis bulls of Armant . It was five kilometers southwest of Malqata and was used by the 30th Dynasty until the Roman Empire . The superstructures of the walled Temenos have disappeared. So far, the collapsed underground corridors with around 33 vaulted burial chambers with the stone sarcophagi of the bulls have been explored. 300 m east was the smaller facility for the Buchis mothers (Baqaria) .
