Budiwelnik Kiev

Budiwelnik Kiev refers to a Ukrainian sports club from Kiev . The club is best known for its men's basketball team , which won the national championship of Ukraine several times and the championship of the Soviet Union in 1989 . In 2010, a second professional men's ice hockey team was founded, but it did not start playing.

history

The predecessor club SKIF was founded in 1945 and won the national championship in men's basketball for the first time in 1958. In 1962, the team was assigned to a building trust and officially referred to as Stroitel Kiev . In 1989 they won the national championship of the Soviet Union in men's basketball for the first time and in connection with the national independence of Ukraine the name was changed to Budiwelnik ( German  construction worker ).
