Budongo forest

The Budongo Forest (Budongo Forest Reserve) is a wildlife sanctuary in northwest Uganda . It covers 790 km² and borders on the Murchison Falls National Park to the south . The area consists of several pieces of forest with an interesting fauna, whereby the chimpanzees with a population of about 600 individuals (2004 estimate) are the main attraction for the (few) tourists who visit the sanctuary. The area is also known for the high biodiversity of the bird world.
