Buenos Aires Agreement

Signatory countries of the Buenos Aires Agreement

The Buenos Aires Agreement is a treaty signed on August 11, 1910 between the USA and 17 Latin American states. The agreement states that literary and artistic copyrights are mutually recognized insofar as the works are marked with an intention to reserve rights (Art. 3). In most cases, this was the phrase " all rights reserved " (Engl. All rights reserved , span. Todos los derechos reservados ) placed at the end of a publication.

When all countries joined the Bern Convention for the Protection of Works of Literature and Art (most recently Nicaragua on August 23, 2000), the Buenos Aires Agreement became meaningless.
