Buffalo bison (PL)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The 1890 Buffalo Bisons were a one-year baseball team in the Players' League, which was also short-lived . In the only season played in the league, the bisons were last with 36 wins, 96 defeats and a win rate of 27.3%.

The future Hall of Famer Connie Mack was a co-owner of the team. He invested all of his savings, $ 500, in the club. He also played the only season as a catcher . Dummy Hoy , famous for his deafness, was also part of the bison squad.

The name Buffalo Bisons still leads to confusion today that there were and are various teams with this name, some of which acted simultaneously.

The Minor League team of the New York Mets , currently operating under the name Buffalo Bisons, does not have the team from 1890 as part of its history.
