Sunrise Tribe is a combo of three singers, founded in 2003, who create a German and English-language mixture of reggae and dancehall music.

history

Sunrise Tribe originally consisted of Solion (Johannes Mühlbauer, son of Henry Arland ), lead singer, songwriter, composer, producer and Max (Max Fuchs). In 2004 they started a cooperation with Masu (Gregor Bodler), who until then had only been doing German hip-hop . The three singers already knew each other in elementary school. In the same year they performed for the first time in their hometown Prien as Sunrise Tribe and Masu.

After a few appearances with DJs , these types of shows are also known as sound systems in Jamaica , they started working with the regional band Wohnung 13 in 2004 . The singers wanted to expand their musical horizons and be closer to reggae, which lives from live instruments. In 2005 Masu was integrated as a permanent third member and they only began to appear as the Sunrise Tribe.

At the beginning of 2006, Sunrise Tribe changed all musicians. An album was planned with the new line-up of a former school band / school band. In the summer of 2007, Sunrise Tribe reached the final of the Rototom Sunsplash European Reggae Contest . At the same time, Solion began training as a sound engineer at the German Pop Academy and successfully completed it. The songs for her debut album were recorded in the self-furnished studio in winter 2007/2008 and published under the name "Tribehauseffekt". The CD was mixed by Umberto Echo and mastered in the Dorian Gray Studios in Munich. The christening of the record was celebrated on a steamboat on the Chiemsee .

After conflicts of interest over the musical direction, the singers separated from the five musicians at the end of 2008, who then pursued other musical projects. The three singers continued to perform as the Sunrise Tribe. They have further expanded their performance at sound system appearances, where the Selecta Mr.Lophikill (Philipp Meissner) has been playing continuously since 2004 . At the end of 2009 they started their next album. This was published in April 2011 under the name "Journey".

Since 2004 the trio Sunrise Tribe has played over 150 appearances both with the band and with the sound system at music festivals such as Chiemsee Reggae Summer , Free4All Festival, Popkomm , Reggaejam, Rototom Sunsplash , Ruhr Reggae and Southern Vibes and in clubs such as Backstage , Bogaloo, Halle02 , Muffatwerk , Treibhaus, and Cross Club in Prague , NED Club in Montreux and Sonar Club in Tuscany . For their appearances, they repeatedly traveled through German-speaking countries to Italy and the Czech Republic.
