Shah Alam-Bukit Jelutong

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Bukit Jelutong is a district of the Malaysian city of Shah Alam . Another official name is Seksyen U8 , a Malay derivative of the English word "Section". All districts of Shah Alam are numbered in the same way.

Bukit Jelutong is primarily an upscale residential area. The apartment blocks consist of terraced houses or single houses (bungalows). Bukit Jelutong has good transport links. There are three motorway entrances and many four-lane expressways run through the district. It takes around ten minutes to get to the center of Shah Alam by car.

It was not until the beginning of 2007 that a building block was opened for retail in the north of Bukit Jelutong. A music school, a supermarket, restaurants and other shops can now be found there. Most of the houses are two-storey and are based on a Mediterranean style.

In Bukit Jelutong there is a state primary school (Sekolah Kebangsaan Bukit Jelutong), a state secondary school (Sekolah Kebangsaan Menengah Bukit Jelutong) and a Montessori preschool (kindergarten).

The name already suggests that the residential area is hilly (Bukit Malay : hill).
