Bulge test

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The bulk test is a method from the field of materials testing . With it it is possible to determine flow curves in the biaxial stress state. Here, a test body clamped on all sides is loaded on one side with a continuously increasing oil pressure , which leads to a bulging of the test body. The attempt is made until it breaks . The flow curve can then be determined by means of the oil pressure, the course of the sheet metal thickness while the test is being carried out and the optical measurement and evaluation of the bulge.
